Obituary of Margaret Jane Breathouwer

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARGARET J. BREATHOUWER Margaret Jane Breathouwer, daughter of Wendell and Alice Burditt, was born January 19, 1935, in New York State, and passed away at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas, on April 17, 2011, at the age of 76. Margaret grew up in Parsons, Kansas, and attended the local schools. She also attended Ft. Hays State University where she received her B.S. in education. Margaret married Melvin Breathouwer in Hays, and to this union five children were born. They made their home in the Long Island and Almena communities where she was a kindergarten teacher with the Northern Valley school system. Following her retirement, she continued to enjoy helping with the preschool classes. Margaret was a member of the Congregational Church in Almena. Survivors include: her husband, Melvin Breathouwer, Long Island, Kansas; three daughters, Judy Low, Topeka, Kansas; Debra Breathouwer; and Shawna Miller, Holton, Kansas; four grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kevin Gene Breathouwer, and one daughter, Diane Renee Lowry. Memorials have been established to the Northern Valley Preschool and the Almena Congregational Church.
