Obituary of Michael R. Mapes

MICHAEL R. MAPES

Michael R. Mapes, son of Art and Fern (Schlingloff) Mapes, was born January 6, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, and passed away at his home in Norcatur, Kansas, on February 25, 2018, at the age of 60.

Mike grew up in the Norcatur community and graduated from the Decatur County High School with the class of 1977. He spent the majority of his life on the road driving semi trucks. In the latter part of his life, he worked for Steve Berry of Lenora.

Mike enjoyed life and especially his time hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include: one sister, Donna Warren, Oberlin, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
