I babysat for Mike every Sunday night in the winter months while Art and Fern played cards (I think they belonged to a card club...that's been many years ago.) They lived in the apartment at the north end of Main Street in Norcatur and the room adjacent to the apartment was a toy room to die for. It had a large toy train track, one of those boxing poles where you hit the bag with your boxing gloves (only to have it come back and hit you in the face...that was not my favorite). There were other fun things in there but my favorite was the huge trampoline. Mike and I spent a lot of time on that thing. In fact, one Sunday night of jumping on it led me to the operating table the next day with appendicitis.
I held a special affection for Mike and I think he did for me too. Rest in peace Mike.
