I knew the first time I met Joe that he was truly special. It was his birthday and he came in to OBriens to have a beer. He was so kind. I thought he was kidding when he told me his last name was Sweet but after getting to know him there could not have been a better name for him. I will pray for your family, Kelly, in the coming days that you will find peace and comfort. I feel blessed to have known him.

In Honor of a True Hero~Joe Sweet
Thoughts of you today
the man you were, the part God had you play.
Strong, yet tender, never a thought for yourself
Always a hug to give or huge shoulder to lend.
So many called you friend.
Your purpose now so clearly defined,
Out in the night you went, but we know, you were not alone.
Truly a guardian angel for all, earthly bound,
But now set free, our HERO, you are truly home.

Strength and courage are made of what is in your heart and soul. You had the strength and courage of ten men and it showed in the way you protected and loved your family Joe. Your a hero.May god give your family the strength and courage to go on and use the love for you and each other to stick together. “If you haven't got something worth dieing for, life isn't worth living" (from your facebook page).
Kelly, anything for you and the family...if I can do it, you got it. Hold on to each other tight. We love you.

We didn't know Joe personally but did spend some time chit chatting with him at the biker bash in Lenora last year. His passion for motorcycles was definitely visible to us and I'm sure everyone else around. May he rest in peace spending his days riding hard and fast.
If a poker run is something that comes about to memorialize him and his love for motorcycles we would love to be a part of it.
