Obituary of Steven Glen Hawks
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
STEVEN G. HAWKS
Steven Glen Hawks, son of Dean and Iona (Geil) Hawks, was born September 23, 1950, in Norton, Kansas, and passed away at his home in Almena, Kansas, on December 5, 2013, at the age of 63.
Steve grew up in Almena, attended the Northern Valley Grade School, and graduated from the Northern Valley High School. He also attended Goodland Vo-Tech where he received a degree in carpentry. On February 14, 1981, Steve and Carla Fouts-Shick were united in marriage in Almena where they made their home. Steve was a farmer and also a Correctional Officer at the Norton Correctional Facility.
Steve had served as a member of the Andbe Home Board for several years. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include: his wife, Carla Hawks, Almena; three daughters, Danielle Miller, Crystal River, Florida; Stephanie and husband, Nick Brandyberry, Bertrand, Nebraska; and Megan Hawks, Norton; two brothers, Bob and wife Alice Hawks and Larry Hawks, all of Almena; one sister, Glenda and husband Terry Rieger, St. Francis, Kansas; six grandchildren, Makaela and Tristan Miller, Nate, Carter, and Tucker Brandyberry, and Braylin Linden; other relatives and many friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association or the Andbe Home of Norton.
