Wow where do I start? I have so many memories of Phyllis and the Best one would be at Bingo when we both bought our cards right after each other and I ended up winning the Jackpot and she said well I guess I got the out of town card...lol She has helped me out like no other in cloths. She has a taste for fashion, and a taste for food. She always called me and Verland when she needed help on the house, cleaning carpet's, or moving thing's around. I will always hold er dear in my heart. <3 R.I.P

Where to begin,I can only imagine what she gave up to come to USA with our dad. There were good times and times we new we were trouble, but through it all we new we were loved. Thanks to my sister Lela who jumped in no questions asked and took care of mom. There were good times and sad times.Good times our last Christmas together and my niece helped give her the best (I think) Christmas mom could ever image. So mom you and dad are together again as it should be. Miss you mom and.Sometimes I still wish I had you to talk to.

Memory of Mom
I can't begin to tell every memory I have; I would be writing for days. It has taken me 2 years to actually sit down and write something. It was just too painful. She was the BEST Grandma in the world. I was very blessed to have her in my life.
For those who do not know, I called my Grandma Phyllis; Mom. I am the 1st grandchild of Grandma Phyllis & Grandpa Leland. Some would say I was the favorite grandchild... However, I can honestly say that although I might have been the 1st grandchild I believe in my heart that each and every one of us grandchildren felt the same WARM LOVE from both grandparents. Love doesn't come in measurements; it comes from a life time of memories shared. It comes from zillions of kisses, millions of hugs, thousands of laughs, hundreds of special moments and a few tears along the way. Mom played a huge part in all of our lives. She was ALWAYS there for EVERY event for all of us.
There isn't a day goes by that I don't see her face...she is on the front page of my phone. I am reminded several times a day of her strength and perseverance. One of my last memories was 2 months before she passed. She had mentioned several times that she wanted to go on a carriage ride; so just before Christmas they had horse drawn carriage rides around downtown Hays. I finally talked her into it. Once we got her in the carriage she asked: "How long is this guna take?" I said: "I don't know...why? Do you have a hot date?" She said: "I sure do...a hot date with my coffee and my chair!" We no more got down the street and she said: "Don't these things go any faster? I'm freezing my tits off out here!" It was too funny! Afterwards my mom, dad and I took her for a nice hot cup of coffee. Now we all know that's how I talked her into going...by telling her I would take her for coffee afterward...lol. After coffee my mom and dad took her back to the house and I stopped into a local shop, and who do I see? Santa. His gig was almost finished so I asked him if I paid him $50 would he come by my mom's house and visit an 85 yr old kid (Grandma P.). He agreed. You should have seen the look on her face when Santa walked in the door and asked: "Is there a little girl by the name of Phyllis that lives here?" He asked her if she had been good this year. She said: “Being good isn’t any fun!” Santa wasn’t sure what to say about that…lol. Then he asked what she wanted for Christmas and she said: "I wana go gambling." We all laughed and joked for about 15 min. and he gave her a candy cane and I took her picture with Santa. These are the things that I miss the most. She was always game for any crazy idea I had up my sleeve at any time of the day or night.
There are so many more memories at the bingo, with Carol or Shirley; at the bowling alley with all of her bowling buddies; singing me songs before bed; watching old movies til the WEE hours of the morn; ice skating; walking downtown to get her hair done and paying bills on Wednesdays; going up to the café with Mom on Sunday & Monday while she cleaned; surprising her at midnight and starting her living room wall papering project at 1am; stealing a pumpkin from Safeway (I was the thief… she was just an innocent passenger in the car); just hanging out with my Grandma was the best.
I miss you so much my heart hurts…. I love you MOM! You are always on my mind and forever in my heart.
Stacy
