Obituary of Dennis Donald Burge

IN LOVING MEMORY OF DENNIS D. BURGE Dennis Donald Burge, son of Don and Edna (Myer) Burge, was born March 1, 1944, in Hastings, Nebraska, and passed at his home in Norton, Kansas, on August 25, 2011, at the age of 67. Dennis grew to manhood in Bladen, Nebraska, where he attended the local schools. He also graduated from Pittsburg State University with a bachelor's degree in education. On January 4, 1964, Dennis and Linda Crowe were united in marriage in Franklin, Nebraska. They made their home in Hastings, Grand Island, and Bladen, Nebraska, before moving to Norton in 1969. Dennis was a businessman and a teacher. Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf. Survivors include: his parents, Don and Edna Burge, Campbell, Nebraska; his wife and best friend, Linda Burge, Norton; three children, Don Burge, Norton; Amber Burge, Ocala, Florida; Darin Burge, and wife, Amie, Almena, Kansas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bob Burge, Kearney, Nebraska; Mel Crowe, Hastings; Bill Crowe, Orlando, Florida; three sisters, Sharon Kreutzer, Kearney; Sherri Nelson and Hope Odell, both of Hastings; other relatives and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Raymond and Patsy Crowe. Memorials may be made to Hospice Services of Norton County and the Cancer Fund.
