Obituary of Darla Diane Brown

IN LOVING MEMORY OF DARLA DIANE BROWN On September 24, 1945 in Auburn, Washington, Darla Diane Brown came into this world to join her parents, Jay and Phyllis (Bisbing) Brown. On February 23, 2010, she left this world to join them again. In those 64 years, 4 months and 29 days she brought love, care, and compassion to all who knew her. She was raised in Kent, Washington, graduating from high school in 1964. For many years she ran a licensed day care in her home in Kent. Her mother passed away in 1987. In 1989, Darla and her father moved to Lincoln, Kansas, to be near other family members. Together they owned a used furniture store until his death in 1991. She also worked at the Lincoln Grocery Store for several years. She later moved to Norton, Kansas, where she worked at the Norton County Hospital until her retirement. Her happiest times were playing cards and going to bingo. Survivors include: one brother, Daniel Brown, and sons, Jerry and Jimmy, Kent, Washington; two aunts, Toddy Richter, Maple Valley, Washington; and Gene Lamphear, Cle Elum, Washington; other relatives; and her dearest friends and companions, Cathryn Hanson and her daughter, Cecelia Muir of Norton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her paternal grandparents, Milton and Anna Brown, her maternal grandparents, Christopher and Eva Hare, as well many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
