Obituary of Beverly Ann Wilken

Beverly Ann Wilken, 74, of Norton, KS passed away March 17, 2021 at the Norton County Hospital. She was born September 30, 1946 in Ansley, NE to Kenneth and Ethelyn (Pirnie) Sadler. Beverly grew up in Ansley, NE and graduated from Ansley High School in 1965. She went on to attend Kearney St. College and then she went to radio school in Falls City, NE. Beverly married Dennis Wilken on September 20, 1980 in Ansley. She worked for Charles and Daisy Worden Jewelry Store and then for years at the First Security Bank in Norton. Beverly then went to work at Halls Clothing Store in Norton for 19 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing needlepoint, and watching HGTV and Wheel of Fortune. Beverly was a member of the Norton Christian Church and the IF: Gathering Women’s Group. She also coordinated the funeral dinners at the church for many years. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Ethelyn Sadler. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Wilken of Norton, KS; brothers-in-law, James (Dorothy) Wilken of Edinburg, TX and Mike (Roslyn) Wilken of Enid, OK; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Nelson of Bertrand, NE and Diane Deselms of Cambridge, NE and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Norton Christian Church. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm Monday, March 22, 2021 also at the church. Burial will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Liberty Cemetery in Custer County, Nebraska. Memorial contributions may be made to Norton Christian Church or the Norton County EMS.
