Obituary of Pamela Sue Menagh

Pamela Sue Menagh, 72, of Norton, Kansas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in her home. Pam was born in Holdrege, Nebraska, on November 20, 1948, to her parents, Lauren Daffer and Josephine Hanni. She had two brothers, Jay Dee Daffer and Barry Daffer. She attended kindergarten through 12th grade in Beaver City, Nebraska and graduated in 1967. She then attended Kearney State College, majoring in Economic Studies, and graduated in 1971. In Kearney, she met her husband Lynn Menagh and they married on June 14, 1970. This summer, Lynn and Pam celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She took continuing education classes at Baker University throughout her career. Pam taught home economics in Friend, NE from 1971-1972, and Crete, NE from 1973-1985. After moving to Norton in 1985, she became the Drug and Alcohol Coordinator. Pam enjoyed being an educator and working with youth. Pam was the heart of her family. On both the Daffer side and the Menagh side, Pam was the person who organized family events, and made everyone feel welcome. On Thanksgivings, she would host both sides of the family and often had over 50 people join. Pam’s family was incredibly close, and she enjoyed gatherings both large and small. In her spare time, Pam enjoyed reading, playing games with family, traveling, camping, fishing, working with the church and the thrift store, spending time with family and enjoying her grandchildren, and relaxing at their lake house in Kearney.
