I met Dave through a mutual friend, Ken Herman, back in 1976. Dave rode a Moto Guzzi then and always kept it in top condition. The 3 of us did a fair bit of getting around.
I went a separate way and after Ken passed away, I lost touch with Dave. He gave my wife and I a steak knife set for our wedding just on 42 years ago. We still use and reminisce over them.
Dave struck me right off the bat as a decent, straight up man. He served his community well. When he became Mayor, I had to chuckle over memories of late Saturday night burgers at the old "Blue Beacon" and what led up to getting those burgers!!
His family, many friends, and the Norton community lost a true Citizen: Responsible, Productive, and Caring with a True Servant's Heart.
I, for one, am better for knowing him.

David was a man deserving of being the protagonist in a great American novel. Loved his Easy Rider style, sharp wit humor, and family loyalty.
