Aunt Toots and my mother shared April 8 birthdays and so she is the only Aunt in law that I can remember the birthday. She has been so special to all of our family and will leave such a hole in our lives. But we celebrate that she is reunited with "the best" as she called Uncle Carl in her interview with the Oberlin paper. I imagine that some in Heaven are experiencing her card playing skills. Our grand kids all speak very fondly of their great great Aunt Toots. Condolences to her immediate family.

We lost the beautiful matriarch of our family this past Friday. She instantly impacted all she met with a contagious positive attitude, bright outlook and a profoundly pragmatic approach to life. As part of the immediate family, I can say we were blessed with sharing so, so many events, cherished memories and family fun growing up with grandma Toots. We are all much better people having been shaped by her wisdom and guidance. Thank you to all who have shared your lives with her and enjoyed her presence. She loved (LOVED) every encounter and every experience and herself cherished keeping in touch with those she met. A great example of her impact was when my wife and I took her to a professional baseball game. When she climbed into the Uber vehicle, she instantly looked at the drive and said "My name is Toots. What is yours?". She instantly made a best friend who called her Miss Toots the entire ride. Please keep the memories alive and always remember her smile and laugh. Grandma Toots was a true gem.

It had been several years since I had been back to Norcatur, so I took my wife, Camilla, and daughter, Valerie, there over the Memorial Day weekend years ago. While we were out there, I stopped by the farm house to pay my respects to Toots. She and Camilla hit it off very quickly because Camilla is accomplished at knitting and crochet. Toots gave Camilla several knitted pot holders and wash clothes that were very elegant.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Toot's had a beautiful heart and touched our families life many years ago when we were neighbors in the Lyle community. Even though we had not seen her for nearly 20 years she was always someone we thought fondly of every now and again. Sincere condolences to her family.
