Obituary of Rosa P. Brown
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
ROSA P. BROWN
Rosa P. Brown, daughter of Galen and Cleta (Deeter) Wertenberger, was born February 28, 1919, in rural Quinter, Kansas, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 24, 2020, at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, at the age of 101.
Rosa grew up in the Devizes, Kansas community, attending the rural grade school and graduating from the Norcatur High School. Rosa married Gerald D. Brown in 1938, in Quinter. They made their home in various communities in Kansas, Nebraska, and California, before returning to the Lyle, Kansas, area. They later moved to Norton, where Rosa spent many years as a clerk in the J.C. Penney store.
Rosa enjoyed crocheting and she was best known for her angel food cakes and cherry pies.
Survivors include: her daughter, Judy and husband, John Nebgen, Rome, Illinois; two grandchildren, Dane Nebgen and Ginger Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Emilee and Maddy Nebgen, Ashley and Ben Johnson; other relatives and friends.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, three brothers, and two sisters.
