Obituary of Judith VanWinkle
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
JUDITH A. VAN WINKLE
Judith A. Van Winkle, daughter of Robert and Mary (Stephens) Porter, was born November 28, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana, and passed away at the Logan Manor in Logan, Kansas, on February 25, 2020, at the age of 80.
Judy moved to Colorado, at 13 and graduated from high school in Fairplay, Colorado. In her adult life, Judy lived in Colorado, New Mexico, California, and Indiana, before moving to Kansas, to be near family. She loved being a waitress and interacting with people. She would often run into people who would recognize her from 20, 30 or even 40 years ago. .
Survivors include: three children, Grenada (April) Rissler, Albany, New York; Tayna Rissler, Lakewood, Colorado; and Angel Retke, Norton, Kansas; two grandchildren; a half-brother, Edward Porter; two half-sisters, Shauna Rekne and Sharron Porter; other relatives and friends.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, and a half-brother, Mike Porter.
Cremation was chosen and inurnment will be held in New Albany, Indiana, at a later date. A memorial has been established to the Logan Manor and condolences may be sent to www.enfieldfh.com Arrangements are with the Enfield Funeral Home of Norton, KS.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
