Obituary of Wava Louise Donovan

IN LOVING MEMORY OF WAVA L. DONOVAN Wava Louise Donovan, daughter of Henry and Florence (Mason) Shaw, was born December 4, 1923, in Norton, Kansas, and passed away at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas, on December 9, 2010, at the age of 87. Wava grew up in Norton and graduated from the Norton Community High School. On May 12, 1944, she married Ben Donovan in Norton. They made their home in Norton where she was a clerk in the county treasurer's office for many years. Wava was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a past member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include: her husband, Ben, of their home in Norton; one son, Pat, and his wife, Linda Donovan, Norton; one daughter, Carol, and her husband, David Leighton, Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Mary Lue Archibald, Norton; Miladeen Bower, Zillah, Washington; six grandchildren, Michele, Todd, Shari, Donovan, Katie, and Maggie; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael, one daughter, Martha, one great-grandson, Elliot, and one sister, Pauline.
