I would like to extend my condolences and deep gratitude as I reflect on his life and my memories of Mickey. He was EXACTLY what I needed when I made the decision to get sober almost 6 years ago. He gave me the tough love and the non-sugar coated honesty I needed, yet he provided me with strength and compassion when I felt broken and vulnerable while trying to heal. He taught me to forgive myself for my past and use those mistakes as building blocks instead of weapons. When I felt overwhelmed by all the steps, he taught me how to keep it simple and “dance” with God every day...1, 2, 3....1, 2, 3. He pushed me to step out of my comfort zone because he believed in me and knew that I was stronger than I ever gave myself credit for. He selflessly dedicated his life to helping others in their journey to recovery. Rest In Peace, Mickey ❤️ I will never forget you. Biggest hugs and prayers to his loved ones during this difficult time and thank you for sharing him...he touched a lot of lives ❤️

Oh Penny, I am so deeply sorry to hear this. Mickey is and will always be an inspiration to me and someone I aspire to be. I am blessed to have had him as my counselor “hall-mate” and in my life to learn from.... not just about recovery but how to live and live well. His “no BS” philosophy yet ability to show his care and faith is unparalleled. He will truly be missed by all and though incredibly sad, I’m fortunate to have the memories to look back on... the amazing “doodles” (artwork) he could create while listening in a staff meeting, his dislike for the Mickey song :), that great work ethic of his (I don’t think I ever beat him to work, ever), his laugh and sense of humor, and just the unconditional love and support I always felt as a fellow counselor and that I know he offered his family and alllllll those patients throughout the years. We love you and miss you, Mickey.
