Obituary of David Paul Brehmer

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

DAVID PAUL BREHMER

David Paul Brehmer, son of Earle and Lorene (Rumsey) Brehmer, was born April 15, 1960 in Norton, and passed away at the Hays Medical Center in Hays on July 25, 2019, at the age of 59.

David grew up in Norton and attended the local schools, graduating from Norton Community High School with the class of 1978, and then attending the University of Kansas, where he became a devoted Jayhawk basketball fan, and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on the Norton Public Library Foundation board. David's creative and artistic vision contributed to landscaping projects at both the church and library. He was a professional art dealer and framer. His custom pieces were known for their beauty and creativity.

On Aug. 12, 2011, David married Sara Stuewe. He was proud to be a new grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, especially on art projects and reading. Because of these special times, the girls will always remember their 'Pappah.'

Survivors include: his wife, Sara Brehmer, of the home; stepsons, Clarke (Julia) Nelson, Long Island; and Stanton Nelson, Grapevine, Texas; three granddaughters, Abby, Ellie and Caroline, Long Island; mother-in-law, Nyla Stuewe, Tucson, Ariz.; brothers-in-law, Scott Stuewe (Sarah), Williamsville, Ill.; and Jon (Mari) Stuewe, Puerto Rico; his mother, Lorene; sisters, Charla Brehmer and Claudia Brehmer, Longview, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earle Brehmer, and his father-in-law, David Stuewe.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the David Brehmer Art Scholarship Fund or charity of one's choice.
