Obituary of Tom Bauer
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
THOMAS D. BAUER
Thomas David Bauer, son of Dave and Faye (Norton) Bauer, was born September 22, 1950, in Ransom, Kansas, and passed away in Decatur County, Kansas, on May 22, 2019, at the age of 68.
Tom grew up on the family farm outside of Lenora, Kansas, and he attended the Lenora schools. Tom married his sweetheart, Belinda Stutterheim, in Prairie View, Kansas. They made their home in Almena where they raised their family. Tom worked for Norton Auto Supply/Carquest in Norton for many years and was well loved and respected by all who worked with him.
Tom was a member of the United Methodist Church in Long Island, Kansas. He loved spending time with his family, polka and waltz dancing at family dances and anniversaries and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Tom was a people person and he spent time helping area farmers and friends work cattle and fix fence. Tom loved hunting, fishing, shooting blue rock and participating in 3D tournaments.
Survivors include: his wife, Belinda Bauer, Norton; two sons, Joey Bauer, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Cory Bauer, Fairbury, Nebraska; three grandchildren; his mother, Faye Bauer, Hays, Kansas; two sisters, Nancy Meitl, Rush Center, Kansas; Susan Wolf, Hays, Kansas; and his beloved little buddy, Hawkeye.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Rick Bauer, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
FUNERAL SERVICE – Wednesday, May 29, 2019 – 10:30 a.m.
PLACE – United Methodist Church – Long Island, KS
VISITATION – Tuesday, May 28, 2019—5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at
Enfield Funeral Home – 215 W. Main – Norton, KS
