Obituary of Sharon O. Leiker
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
SHARON O. LEIKER
Sharon Opal (Fox) Leiker, daughter of Elwyn and Opal (Applegate) Fox, was born March 20, 1940, in Hill City, Kansas, and passed away in Norton, Kansas, on April 27, 2019, at the age of 79.
Sharon lived in Denver, Colorado, most of her life where she graduated from the Littleton High School. On December 28, 1958, Sharon married Alfred Leiker in Evergreen, Colorado. She made her home in California for several years and later came to Norton to retire. While in Norton, she taught a course, "Reaching Out From Within" at the Norton Correctional Facility, receiving "Kansas Volunteer of the Year" in 2009.
Sharon was a member of the First Church of God in Norton. She enjoyed her volunteer work and was a soldier for the Lord with the Salvation Army for over 20 years, representing the organization on the Norton County Ministerial Alliance.
Survivors include: three sons, Daniel Lee (Diane) Leiker, Thornton, Colorado; Troy Lance Leiker, Colby, Kansas; Christopher John (Heather) Leiker, Kent, Washington; one sister, Carolyn (Stan) Applegate, Norton; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scott Alan Leiker, and one grandson, Wesley Alan Leiker.

PLACE – Enfield Funeral Home – 215 W. Main – Norton, KS
INTERMENT – Hill City Cemetery – Hill City, KS
MEMORIAL – Norton County Salvation Army and Sharon Leiker Memorial Fund
VISITATION – Friday, May 3, 2019 – 11:00 a.m. until service time
