I managed the Duckwalls store in Norton from 1981-1985. During that time I was mentored by your dad "Burt" Schrum. He Don Stuvick and I used to work together on downtown retail promotions. Your dad always had great ideas and the 3 of us had fun working out the details. Burt & Betty were true friends and "adoptive" parents. They helped thruough some very rough times. Burt & Betty remind me of how my parents took better care of others than they did themselves. I'm sad to see Burt's passing but knowing him as I did he left a huge amount of wonderful memories for his family and the community.
