Obituary of Helen Naedean Whitney
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
HELEN NAEDEAN WHITNEY
Helen Naedean Whitney (Vise), beloved daughter of Everett and Florence (McConnell) Vise was born in Furnace County, Nebraska on November 28, 1932, and peacefully passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas on October 5, 2018, at the age of 85.
Naedean grew up in Wilsonville, Nebraska and graduated from Wilsonville High School with the Class of 1950. On February 24, 1952, Naedean was united in marriage to the love of her life, Royce Whitney in Norton, Kansas. After their marriage they lived in Norton for a year then moved to Almena where they lived until 1974 when they moved to their farm house. She worked as a book keeper for their construction business.
Naedean volunteered organizing lunches for the American Red Cross blood drives at the Armory in Norton and was a member of the Center Township 1 Election Board. She enjoyed playing cards, going to coffee, reading, and watching games shows. Her greatest love was her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Survivors include: two sons, Douglas and Keith Whitney, Norton, Kansas; one daughter, Gail, and husband, Gary Lanier, Walton, Kansas; two brothers, Wayne, and wife, Helen Vise, Springfield, Missouri; John, and wife, Sharon Vise, Lexington, Nebraska; two sisters, Carolyn Jean Kircher, Washington State; Sharon Tillitson, Wilsonville, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Whitney, and husband, Keith Black, Paola, Kansas; Nathaniel, and wife, Kirstan Lanier, Shawnee, Kansas; Hunter Lanier, Walton, Kansas; one great-grandchild, Bryant Black.
Naedean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Royce, two brothers, Robert and Dwight Vise, and one granddaughter, Megan Lanier.
FUNERAL SERVICE – Wednesday, October 10, 2018 – 10:30 A.M
PLACE – Enfield Funeral Home – Norton, Kansas
VISITATION – Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM
at the Enfield Funeral Home in Norton.
INTERMENT – Mt. Hope Cemetery – Almena, Kansas
MEMORIALS – Norton Public Library
