Obituary of Margerite Collins

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARGERITE A. (WATKINS) COLLINS Margerite A. (Watkins) Collins, beloved daughter of Robert and Margerite (Sengebush) Watkins, was born on September 21, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, and peacefully passed away at the Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico on September 10, 2018, at the age of 91. Margerite attended Los Angeles Grade School and later moved to Gardena where she graduated from Gardena High School. On August 13, 1943, Margerite and Jimmie Collins were united in marriage in Gardena, California. They moved several times before making their home in Truth or Consequence, New Mexico. Margerite was a member of the Norton Christian Church in Norton, Kansas, the Baptist Church in Gardena, California, and the Caballo Church in Caballo, New Mexico. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. Survivors include: one son, Roger "Rocky" Collins, Truth or Consequence, NM; three grandchildren, Troy, and wife, Sara Collins, Norton, KS; Kris, and husband, Jay Jones, Nixa, MO; Carolyn Collins, Simi Valley, CA; six great-grandchildren, Darrien, Emma, Ainsley, and Kendal Collins, Norton, KS; Jason Jones, Nixa, MO; Katherine Jones, Nixa, MO; several other relatives and friends. Margerite was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, two sons, Terry and Tim Collins, and two brothers, Raymond and Lt. Col. Charles Watkins.' FUNERAL SERVICE – Monday, September 17, 2018 – 2:00 P.M. PLACE – Enfield Funeral Home – Norton, Kansas VISITATION – Monday, September 17, 2018 from 10:30 A.M until service time at Enfield Funeral Home in Norton. INTERMENT – Norton Cemetery – Norton, Kansas MEMORIALS – Margerite Collins Memorial Fund
