Obituary of Clara Thiele
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
CLARA THIELE (DUENSING)
Clara Anna Elfrieda (Duensing) Thiele, beloved daughter of Theodore and Sophia (Meyer) Duensing was born May 9, 1923 in Byron, Nebraska. Her life here on earth was completed when she joined the church in heaven on May 25, 2018, at the age of 95.
On May 21, 1923 she was given the gift of a new life through Holy Baptism. After being instructed in the Christian faith, she was confirmed on May 16, 1937 and became a communicant member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School.
Clara was united in marriage to Raymond Thiele on March 8, 1943 in Norton, Kansas. They resided on their farm northwest of Norton for 41 years after which they moved to Norton. They were blessed with four daughters, two sons, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Clara's life was synonymous with faith, devotion, and strength surpassed by none; the strength it takes to devote yourself to your family, always putting their needs and wants ahead of her own. She never held a paying job outside of the home, but received payment in pure love for the hardest job of all, that of a mother. She never complained. She was an ideal mother and was truly loved by her children. She was God's own masterpiece. She was strong in her beliefs, and she lived what she believed; knowing God and the realization that the journey has not ended but I just beginning. Her confirmation verse was: Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life. – Revelations 2:10
Survivors include: four daughters, Fontaine, and husband, Jack Hilgers; Waunita, and husband, Richard Henderson; Marcia, and husband, Michael Whitehorn; Teresa Chancellor; one son, Terry, and wife, Bette Thiele; 13 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; several nephews and nieces; numerous other relatives and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, one son, Theodore, two son-in-laws, David Scheetz and Andrew Chancellor; five siblings and their spouses, Louise (Paul) Nauer, Lydia (Elmer) Wagner, Edward (Marie) Duensing, Viola (Don) Behrens, and Erwin (Fern) Duensing.
