Obituary of Anthony S. Grysch

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ANTHONY S. "TONY" GRYSCH Anthony S. "Tony" Grysch, son of Anthony and Ruth (Grenrood) Grysch, was born May 25, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas, and passed away in Norton, Kansas, on March 29, 2018, at the age of 68. Tony grew up in the Kansas City community and attended the Johnson County schools. On February 28, 1981, Tony and Verla Genice Poage were united in marriage in the Overland Park Christian Church in Overland Park, Kansas. They made their home in Shawnee, Kansas, until March 2006, when they returned to Verla's hometown of Norton. Tony was a small town guy at heart and loved living in Norton, his adopted home. In July 2008, Tony realized a lifelong dream when he opened the Downtown Car Wash. Tony loved getting together with friends to play Texas Hold'em. After moving to Norton, he made many treasured friends. Survivors include: his bride, Verla, of their home in Norton; his mother-in-law, Genny Poage, Norton; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Mary Poage, Topeka, Kansas; two nephews and their wives, Steve and Tammy Poage, and Kyle and Kristin Poage; many cousins; other relatives and many friends. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Verle Poage. FUNERAL SERVICE – Monday, April 2, 2018 – 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life immediately following in Fellowship Hall.
