Obituary of Paul David Deiter

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

PAUL DAVID DEITER

 

            Paul D. Deiter, beloved son of George and Mary (Pancaski) Deiter, was born in Norton, Kansas on September 14, 1936, the youngest of 10 children, and passed away December 12, 2017 in Leavenworth, Kansas, at the age of 81.

            Paul grew to manhood in Norton and graduated from Norton Community High School with the class of 1955. Paul was offered a scholarship to the University of Kansas to play football, but decided to join the United States Air Force. His first tours included: San Antonio, Texas, Japan, England, and Schilling Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas. Paul re-enlisted at the Ent Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he met the love of his life. On March 19, 1960, Paul and Patricia Beck were united in marriage in Spencer, Iowa. They were married for 58 years.

            Paul’s next set of tours took him to Formosa, (Taiwan) and Vandenburg AFB, California. He was assigned to the NATO Command in Izmir, Turkey. He then was a recruiter for the United States Air Force out of Fort Des Moines, Iowa. He retired in 1976 from Altus AFB, Oklahoma and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. After retiring from the Air Force, Paul worked in maintenance for School District Eleven, until he retired again in 1998. They then made their home in Lansing, Kansas.

            Survivors include: his loving wife, Patricia, of their home; one daughter, Kelly Riemann, Lake Ozarks, MO; one sister, Carol Dunlap, Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren/ seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

            Paul was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters, one daughter, Jody Smith, and one grandson, Daniel Riemann.

 

Previous services were held in Leavenworth, Kansas at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 16, 2016.

PLACE – Enfield Funeral Home – Norton, Kansas

VISITATION – Tuesday, December 19, 2017—9:30 A.M until service time.
