Obituary of Mabel Nyland

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MABEL F. NYLAND Mabel Florence (Johnson) Nyland, daughter of Peter B. and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Hiebert) Johnson, was born in McPherson County, Kansas on October 12, 1924, and peacefully passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas on April 22, 2017 at the age of 92. Mabel was a long standing member of the Community Full Gospel Church, now Cornerstone Church in Norton, and not only held offices in numerous departments, but was a Sunday School teacher and church secretary for over 50 years. She retired from the Norton County Hospital as Ward Clerk after 20 years of service. She remained active in the Norton Senior Center, delivered Meals on Wheels into her 80s, and volunteered at the Andbe Home before making her home there for the past eight years. Mabel is survived by her daughters: Lois Peters, and husband, Alan; Joyce Rogers, and husband, Jack; Karen Smith, and husband, Bob; eleven grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edna Johnson; brother, Marvin Johnson; daughter, Marjorie Lambert; son-in-law, LeRoy Lambert; and great-grandson, Dusty Layne Yocum.
