Obituary of Robert Phelps

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ROBERT LEE PHELPS Robert Lee Phelps, son of Charles E. and E. Lora (Putman) Phelps, was born September 26, 1932 in rural Norton County, Kansas and peacefully passed away at the Bethany Home in Minden, Nebraska on February 28, 2017, at the age of 84. Robert attended elementary school in Selden and graduated from the Norton High School in 1951. In February of 1956, Robert was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ermyl "Dolly" Gipe. Robert worked at numerous jobs throughout his life in Norton. He and his wife were the owners and operators of R.L. Phelps Landscaping & Garden Center in Norton. Robert's greatest love was his family. Survivors include: one son, Arlin Phelps, Norton; one daughter, Alane, and husband, Jerry Ruhs, Minden, NE; one brother, F. Silas Phelps, Wichita, KS; one brother-in-law, Wayne Belden, Norton; several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ermyl; two sister-in-laws, Ailene Phelps and Erma "Tiny" Belden; one niece, Cindy Phelps. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. in the Norton Cemetery. Memorials can be made out to the Robert Phelps Memorial Fund.
