Obituary of James Williams

IN LOVING MEMORY OF JAMES G. WILLIAMS James George Williams, son of Ray and Hannah (Poyser) Williams, was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 27, 1939, and peacefully passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on January 5, 2017, at the age of 77. James grew to manhood in the Almena community. He graduated from Northern Valley High School and went on to attend college at Kansas University. On June 4, 1960, James and Virjean Gramzow were united in marriage in Almena, Kansas. James worked as an operation manager for Chevron Oil Company and moved several times before making their home in Norton in 1997. James served on the Norton City Council. He enjoyed working in the oil industry and watching his son Tim, horse race. His greatest love was his wife, especially his children and grandchildren. Survivors include: his loving wife, Jean Williams; two sons, Alan Williams and Tim Williams; one brother, Tom Williams; one sister, Rita, and husband, Rich Ray; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one due in March. James was preceded in death by his parents. FUNERAL SERVICE – Wednesday, January 11, 2017 –2:00 P.M.
