Obituary of Flora Sanders

IN LOVING MEMORY OF FLORA JANE (SAATHOFF) SANDERS Flora Jane (Saathoff) Sanders, was born on March 2, 1928 to John and Ruth (Shewey) Saathoff in Norton, Kansas, and passed away at her home in Topeka, Kansas on November 19, 2016, at the age of 88. Flora graduated from Norton Community High School in 1945 and also graduated from Business school in 1947. Flora and Kenneth Otis Sanders were united in marriage on June 5, 1948. They lived in Norton till 2001 when they moved to Topeka to live closer to their daughter. In 2010 Flora moved to Larned and back to Topeka in 2014. Flora was a member of the Rebekas Association of Norton and Topeka and also a member of the quilting club of Norton and Topeka. Survivors include: one daughter, Louise Mrstik; one son, Leon, and wife, Eleanor Sanders; five grandchildren, Brian & Tonya Sanders, Tyson Sanders, Felicia and Kevin Davis, Lance and Keisha Mrstik, and Becky and Quincy Cosey; 11 great-grandchildren and counting. Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Sanders; parents, John and Ruth Saathoff; one daughter, Linda Lou Sanders; two great-grandsons; mother-in-law, Goldie Dean (Sproul) Sanders; brother-in-law, Joe Keith; sister and brother-in-law, Lena and James Skrdlant. FUNERAL SERVICE – Wednesday, November 23, 2016 –11:00 A.M. PLACE – First United Methodist Church – Norton, Kansas VISITATION – Wednesday, November 23, 2016 –10:00 A.M. until service time.
