Obituary of Jean M. White

IN LOVING MEMORY OF JEAN M. WHITE Jean M. White, daughter of John and Margaret (Sperry) Moore, was born November 7, 1925, in Kansas City, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on October 30, 2016, at the age of 90. She would have turned 91 in eight days. Jean's family moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, and then to a farm in Graham County, Kansas, where Jean grew up. She attended the Hill City schools and also CSU where she obtained her teaching degree. On June 5, 1949, Jean and Warren White were united in marriage in the Methodist Church in Hill City. They made their home in Manhattan, Norton, Phillipsburg, and Goodland, Kansas, before returning to Norton, where Jean was a loving homemaker. They had celebrated their 67th anniversary in June. Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the UMW in Norton. She was a wonderful wife and mother and a very good cook. She enjoyed quilting and loved to travel with her husband. Her greatest joys were her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: her husband, Warren, of their home in Norton; four children and their spouses, Eileen (Bob) Jesse, Kansas City, Kansas; Warren Jr. (Candie) White, Manhattan, Kansas; Beverly (Mark) Funke, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Paul (Barbara) White, Byers, Colorado; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
