Obituary of Frances Cochran
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
FRANCES ELAINE COCHRAN
Frances Elaine (Jones) Cochran, daughter of Archie and Georgia (Lanus) Jones, was born February 18, 1936 in the Crystal Plains Township of Smith County and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton on September 6, 2016, at the age of 80.
Frances grew up in Smith County and attended Pleasant Dale Elementary and Smith Center High School until the 11th grade. She later received her GED. On August 30, 1953, Billie Cochran and Frances were united in marriage in Smith Center.
Frances was active in the First Church of God and was the past President of WCG. She enjoyed sewing, visiting Indian reservations, quilting, and crafts. Frances loved to make quilts for her daughters and granddaughters. Her greatest love was her husband, especially her children and grandchildren. Billie and Frances recently celebrated 63 wonderful years together.
Survivors include: her loving husband, Billie Cochran, of their home; four children, Connie Dale; Joyce Romero; Mari Martinez, and husband, Jose Joseph; William "Butch" Cochran; one brother, Paul Jones; two sisters, Barbara Rowland; Sondra Schoenhofer; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Emily Streit; five brothers, Joe, Leroy, Warren, Lloyd, and Jack Jones; one sister, Joan Moser.
