Obituary of Bernetta F. Benham
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
BERNETTA "BERT" F. BENHAM
Bernetta "Bert" F. Benham, 84, of Norton, Kansas, passed away August 8, 2016, at the Andbe Home in Norton. Bert was born September 3, 1931, in Ellis County, Oklahoma to Ike and Elda (Becker) Johnson.
Bert grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from the Goltry High School in Goltry, Oklahoma. After being a patient at Valley Hope in Norton, she pursued a career in alcohol/drug abuse counseling at The Ark in Boulder, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona. Bert made her home in Wichita, Kansas, and later Pinewood Springs, Colorado, before moving to Norton in 2008.
Bert loved people in general but especially her family. She was always willing to help someone else in need.
Bert is survived by: her husband, Will, of Norton; two daughters, Sharon (Jim) Norton, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Carmella Johnson, Wichita, Kansas; two step-children, Holly Benham, of Texas; and Carl Benham, Ft. Lupton, Colorado; one sister, Karen Glenn, Norton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Bert was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Elgin Johnson, her brother-in-law, John Glenn, her nephew, Matthew Glenn, and one grandchild.
Arrangements are with the Enfield Funeral Home in Norton. There will be no formal services. Condolences and memorials may be sent in care of the funeral home at 215 W. Main, Norton, KS 67654
