Obituary of Earl E. Wright

IN LOVING MEMORY OF EARL E. WRIGHT Earl E. Wright, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away May 11, 2016. He was born June 11, 1925 in Almena, Kansas to the late Steward G. and Hazel Howell Wright. Earl was a graduate of Norton Community High School, Class of 1942. He married H. Mildred Mapes, June 2, 1944, and she preceded him in death April 20, 1982. He then married Winona G. Harter-Pontious, May 7, 1983, and she preceded him in death July 26, 2010. Earl was a finished carpenter for several years prior to moving to Indiana in 1960. He was then employed with the United States Postal Service for 27 years, retiring in 1986. He was a 56-year member of Church at the Crossing. He sang in the church choir for many years, was a youth leader, and very active in his Sunday School Class, as well as, serving on the church's prayer team each week. Earl is survived by his son, Cliff Wright (Donna); daughter, Marllys Clements (Jim); stepdaugthers, Lynne Bruner (John) and Marcia Coulson (Michael); brother, Gerald Wright (Ursula Mix); sister-in-law, Fonda Harter; grandchildren, Dustin Wright (Nikki), Jon Wright (Jenna), Spencer Clements, Dorothy Hornbaker (Ryan), Tony Bruner (Carol), Jenny Smith and Jeff Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Leo Wright and Omar Wrigth; and a sister, Wilma Blakewell, preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held on June 6, 2016 and 12:00 noon, at the Norton Cemetery in Norton, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church at the Crossing, The Time is Now Fund, 9111 Harverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
