Obituary of Velma Johnson
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
VELMA "KAY" JOHNSON
Velma Kay Johnson (Davison), daughter of Carl and Pauline (Porter) Davison, was born April 22, 1938 in Lakin, Kansas, and passed away March 25, 2016, at the Norton County Hospital, at the age of 77.
Velma grew up in the Lakin community and attended the Lakin Grade School and high school. On April 22, 1978, Walter Johnson were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada. After their marriage, Walter and Velma moved to Henning, Minnesota. In September of 1985, Walter passed away. In 1991, Velma moved to Kansas City and lived with her sister. In 1993, she moved to Florida before moving to Norton in 2012. Velma was a home health care provider and a child care provider.
Velma enjoyed ceramics, quilting, cross-stitching, knitting and crocheting. Velma's greatest love was her family, especially her dogs.
Survivors include: one brother, Donald Davison, Norton, Ks; one sister, Katherine Miller, Kansas City, Mo.; one grandchild, Gara Lee; three great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; step-mother, Lois Davison; son, Gary Oches, step-sister, Lois Ann Burks.
