Obituary of Irene Georgeson

IN LOVING MEMORY OF IRENE (BOLLIG) GEORGESON Irene Louise (Bollig) Georgeson, daughter of Adolph and Anna (Rupp) Bollig, was born June 1, 1938 in Fort Morgan, Colorado, and passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska surrounded by her family, on January 22, 2016, at the age of 77. Irene grew up in Brush, Colorado and attended Brush High School. On December 31, 1955, William E. Georgeson and Irene were united in marriage in Raton, New Mexico. Irene and Bill lived south of Lenora, Kansas for a brief period then moved to Wichita, Kansas. After a few years they moved back to Lenora, Kansas, where they farmed. Irene worked as a restaurant manager, but the job she loved was being a farmers' wife. Irene was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo, Kansas. She loved to play scrabble, dominos, bingo, and gamble. Irene was a great cook and also loved to dance. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren and watching all their school events. Survivors include: her loving husband, William Georgeson, of their home in Lenora; one son, Terry Georgeson, Norton, Kansas; three daughters, Kimberly Georgeson, Norton, Kansas; Gwendolyn Poore, and her husband, Patrick, Blaine, Minnesota; Sharon DeKock, and husband Douglas, Oskaloosa, Iowa; one sister, Ginger, and husband, Mike Moser, Grand Junction, Colorado; five grandchildren, Trevor and Taylor Poore, Kirstin Georgeson, Tanner and Keaton DeKock; many other relatives and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, JoAnn Hanson, two brothers, Nick and Kenny Bollig. ROSARY – Friday, January 29, 2016 – 7:00 P.M.
