Obituary of Doris Clydesdale
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
DORIS L. CLYDESDALE
Doris Louise (Carr) Clydesdale, daughter of Clarence and Dora (Sidman) Carr, was born on May 11, 1918, in rural Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton on November 11, 2015, at the age of 97.
Doris was raised on a farm north of Lenora and graduated from Lenora Rural High School. She received her teaching certificate and taught at the rural school for several years. On May 4, 1940, Doris and Leonard Clydesdale were united in marriage in Hays, Kansas. They lived and worked in Norton for several years before moving to the Lenora area where they began farming.
Doris was an active member in the Lenora United Parish Church and taught youth Sunday school classes for several years. She loved tending to her big garden and flower. While working at the Lenora Grade School in the Lunch program, Doris was well known for her delicious French bread.
Survivors include: four children, June, and husband, Joe Nold, Abilene, Ks; Ann, and husband, Jack Engelland, Lyons, Ks; Robert, and wife, Sally Clydesdale, Edmond, Ks; Elaine, and husband, Joe Barton, Neosho, Mo.; one sister, Elsie Schaffer, Pocatello, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by, her parents and three sisters, Alice, Ruth, and Esther.
FUNERAL SERVICE – Monday, November 16, 2015 –11:00 A.M.
PLACE – Lenora United Parish Church – Lenora, KS
INTERMENT- Lenora South Cemetery—Lenora, KS
VISITATION- Monday, November 16, 2015—10:00 A.M until service time.
