Obituary of Dixie Roe
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
DIXIE (SCOTT) ROE
Dixie Lee Roe, of Louisville, CO, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the age of 76.
Dixie was born to parents Vernon Scott and Evelyn Weaver Scott Rodgers in Newton, KS. She graduated from Newton High School and married Gerald Roe, of Norton, KS in 1956. The couples raised five daughters in Norton and were members of the First United Methodist Church. Dixie was a homemaker and assisted in many community organizations including Girl Scouts, 4-H, and Norton Booster Club. After raising the girls she obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certification from Colby Community College. Upon the death of her husband, Dixie moved to Kansas City to be closer to her daughters and granddaughters. For the last year of her life, Dixie lived in Colorado near her daughter.
Dixie is survived by her children, Susan Diane Roe and her husband Tshering Penjor, Thimphu, Bhutan; Sherry Lee Roe, Missoula, MT; Sandra Kay Roe, Corrales, NM; Stacy Ann Renner and her husband Jason and grandson, Issak, Highland, UT; and Sara Lynn Robinson and her husband Dr. George Robinson and granddaughters, Emma and Abbie, Westminster, CO; her sister Marjorie and her husband Delmar Stucky, Wichita, KS and her brother, Vernon Jr.(Scotty)and his wife Gloria Scott, Glens Falls, NY.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Leigh Roe; her parents, Vernon Scott and Evelyn Rodgers; her brothers, Daniel (Danny) Scott; Charles Scott and her sister, Gloria Humphrey.
Friends and family are invited to attend the graveside service at Norton Cemetery on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The family is grateful for the condolences, but requests no flowers or donations.
