Obituary of Harry A. Lowry

IN LOVING MEMORY OF HARRY A. LOWRY Harry A. Lowry, son of Alexander and Olive (Sharp) Lowry, was born January 24, 1919, in Herford, Texas, and passed away July 1, 2015, in Salina, Kansas, at the age of 96. Harry grew up in the Almena community and attended the rural schools. On March 6, 1940, Harry and Forene Laughlin were united in marriage on the family farm south of Almena. They made their home on different farms in the area until 1962, when they moved into Norton. Harry worked for the County and later retired from the City of Norton, where he had worked for several years. Harry's wife, Forene, passed away July 15, 2003. Harry later moved to Salina to be near family. Harry was a farmer/ rancher at heart. He loved working cattle and being outdoors. He also enjoyed playing cards, but his greatest love was his children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: one son and his wife, Kenneth and Hilde Lowry, Longmont, Colorado; two daughters and their husbands, Darlene and Richard McCollum, Spokane, Washington; Dorothy and Larry Rageth, Salina, Kansas; one brother and his wife, Ned and Dorothy Lowry, of Kansas; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Forene, his son, Jim, five brothers and two sisters.
