Obituary of Levina L. Ingram

IN LOVING MEMORY OF LEVINA L. INGRAM Levina Louise Ingram (Brannick), daughter of Michael and Lizzie (Wenfield) Brannick, was born January 27, 1919 in Geary County, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on June 23, 2015, at the age of 96. Levina grew up in Geary County and moved to Goodland, Kansas in 1923 where she lived until 1937. She attended the Sherman County schools. On October 24, 1937, Levina and John Ingram were united in marriage in St. Francis, Kansas. John and Levina lived in Goodland from 1937 until 1951. They then moved to Norton where they lived for four years until moving to Denver, Colorado until 1956. After moving to Denver, Levina worked in the food service for many years. She worked for Morton News which was a nursing home for six years and then worked for 12 years for S.S. Kresge Co., better known as K-Mart as a manager of food service and deli. In 1977, John and Levina moved to Almena, Kansas where they purchased the Almena Recreation Center until 1983. After retiring, Levina made dolls and ceramics until her health failed. John and Levina enjoyed working in their yard and visiting with their neighbors and friends on their front porch. After losing her husband she worked for the Senior Citizen Center from July of 1994 to August 1997. She especially loved having her family and grandchildren at her home. Survivors include: two sons, Gordon, and wife, Twila Ingram, of Almena, Kansas; Duane, and wife, Ceil Ingram, of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Pamela, and husband, Kenneth Martin, of Denver, Colorado; one brother, John Brannick; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Levina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, one daughter, Gloria McChesney, one granddaughter, Brianna Cano, three brothers: Harvey, James, and Paul Brannick; seven sisters: Hester Daniels, Alice Lee, Lorraine and Wanda Brannick, Pearl Hawks, Darlene Elder, and Velda McHatten. FUNERAL SERVICE – Friday, June 26, 2015 –10:30 AM PLACE – Enfield Funeral Home –Norton, Kansas MEMORIAL FUNDS – Hospice services of Norton County Andbe Home Flower Fund VISITATION – Thursday, June 25, 2015 –4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. INTERMENT – Mt. Hope Cemetery – Almena, Kansas
