Obituary of William "Bill" Nelson

IN LOVING MEMORY OF WILLIAM "BILL" NELSON Bill Nelson, son of Lawrence and Ellen Pearle (Webb) Nelson, was born November 27, 1925, in Natoma, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on June 14, 2015, at the age of 89. Bill grew up in Natoma, Kansas, and graduated from the Natoma schools. On September 21, 1944, Bill and Helen Loyd were united in marriage in Alameda, California. After marriage, Bill and Helen lived in Natoma until November 30, 1946. They moved several times before moving to Norton in February of 1999. Bill was a Church Trustee and also a Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed gardening and restoring furniture. Bill took pride in his yard and peonies. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: his wife, Helen Nelson, of Norton; four son, Loyd and his wife, Patricia Nelson, Arvada, Colorado; Larry Nelson, Almena, Kansas; Jon and his wife, Rita Nelson, Johnson, Kansas; James Nelson, Phoenix, Arizona; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; may other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, J.C. Nelson, two sisters, Ellen Clair and Ona Barber. FUNERAL SERVICE – Thursday, June 18, 2015 –10:30 A.M. PLACE – Church of God – Norton, Kansas VISITATION – Wednesday, June 17, 2015 –5:00 P.M. until 7 P.M.
