Obituary of Monty Duane Smith

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MONTY DUANE SMITH Monty Duane Smith was born on August 30th, 1971 to Leon and Gloria Smith in Norton, KS. He passed from this life May 30th, 2015. Monty began grade school in Norton, KS and graduated from Cambridge, NE in 1989. He enjoyed playing football and doing outdoor activities. After high school, he attended Peru State and played football there. He then proceeded to join the National Guard. Monty's passions included God, family, the Kansas City Chiefs, his dog Cammy, fishing, and hunting. His love of the arts ranged from painting, sculpting, welding, and drawing. He also enjoyed careers in welding and construction. Monty was proceeded in death by his sister Pam, his father Leon, and his mother Gloria. He is survived by his brother Cal and wife Sherri Smith of Salina, KS, his brother Clint Smith of Wilsonville, NE, his sister Lori and husband Gary Leibbrandt of Wilsonville, NE, his sister Sharla and husband Geoff Long of Holbrook, NE. Nephew Brandon and wife Erin Smith, niece Rachel Smith and fiancée Adam Hlad, nephew Luke and wife Jennifer Leibbrandt, niece Jennifer Hoard, nieces Halee and Kadee Long and nephew Ethan Long, and eight great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Monty's name and can be sent to Enfield Funeral Home 215 W Main St. Norton, KS 67654.
