Obituary of Clifford C. Gill
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
CLIFFORD C. GILL
Clifford Clayton Gill, son of Daniel and Francis Sina (Nicholas) Gill, was born August 17, 1916, in Wheaton, Missouri, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on February 27, 2015, at the age of 98.
Clifford attended school in Wheaton to the 8th grade. He lived in Wheaton until 1937, when he moved to Manzanola, Colorado. On August 14, 1940, Clifford and Cora Harriett Davis were united in marriage in Manzanola. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where Clifford worked as a carpenter in the wire mill of the Colorado Fuel and Iron Corporation until his retirement. His wife, Cora, passed away April 4, 1995, in Pueblo. In 2001, Clifford moved to Norton to be near his family.
Clifford served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Caldwell during World War II. The destroyer saw action in the South Pacific and was struck by a kamikaze pilot. Clifford received his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy after the war was over.
Survivors include: four children, Harriett Gill, Norton; Clarice Holliday, Vancouver, Washington; Margie Brooks and husband, Donald, Lakewood, Colorado; Clifford "Tom" Gill, and wife, Kathy, Black Mountain, North Carolina; two brothers, Fred Gill, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Clarence Gill, Westcliffe, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cora, three brothers, Lawrence, Homer, and James, and one brother in infancy, and two sisters, Gladys and Francis.

There will be a private family inurnment held for Mr. Gill in Pueblo, Colorado, at a later date.
