Obituary of Ivalee Grove

IN LOVING MEMORY OF IVALEE GROVE Ivalee Grove, loving wife and mother, was born November 24, 1931, in Decatur County, Kansas, and passed away on December 24, 2014, in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 83. She was the daughter of Joseph Cass and Hilda A. (Saltzman) Perrill. Ivalee grew up in the Lenora, Kansas, community and attended the local schools. She married Loys Grove on March 17, 1951, in Norton. Ivalee worked as a cook at the Norton State Hospital. After moving to eastern Kansas, she also was a cook at a youth center until her retirement. She also enjoyed working on water wells with her husband. She enjoyed crocheting and worked hard all of her life. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all. Survivors include: her husband, Loys Grove, of the Old Soldier's Home in Dodge City, Kansas; five children, Freda Grove and Nick Bermann, Bancroft, Iowa; Alvin and Anette Grove, Blue Springs, Missouri; Ida Ray and Jerrold Steward, Richland, Missouri; Debbie Field and Marvin Dougherty, Reserve, Kansas; and Darrell Grove, of the home; three sisters, Erma Hackney, Mable Bohl, and Gladys Minshall, all of Norton, Kansas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. Ivalee was preceded in death by her parents, five of her 10 children, three brothers, Lloyd, Lewis, and Elmer Perrill, and two sisters, Ellen Couchot and Millie Byrne. MEMORIAL SERVICE – Wednesday, December 31, 2014—2:00 PM PLACE – First United Methodist Church – Norton, KS MEMORIAL - Ivalee Grove Memorial Fund VISITATION – Family will receive friends at the church at 1:00 PM until service time.
