Obituary of Bernard Mindrup
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
BERNARD J. MINDRUP
Bernard Joseph Mindrup, son of Bernard Gerhard and Anna (Nettig) Mindrup, was born February 22, 1927 in Decatur County, Kansas, and passed away peacefully at the Norton County Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on November 27, 2014, at the age of 87.
Bernard grew up in the New Almelo area and attended the Glen Valley country school. On August 12, 1958, Bernard and Betty Lou Allen were united in marriage in New Almelo, Kansas. Bernard worked for Sharp Construction, H&M Well Service, and the Lenora Co-op.
Bernard was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo and also the American Legion. Some of Bernard's interests were attending auctions, visiting, and watching Royals baseball.
Survivors include: one daughter and her husband, JoAnn and Doak Brooks of Lenora, Kansas; two sons, Bernie and wife Jane Mindrup of Olathe, Kansas and Steve Mindrup of Ramona, California; five sisters, Agnes Lyon of Norton, Kansas, Mary Ann Grawey of Denver, Colorado, Genevieve Van Vleet and husband Elmer of Denver, Colorado, Rosalie Allen of Ozawkie, Kansas, and Bernice Miles and husband Dennis of The Dalles, Oregon; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mindrup of New Almelo, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Joe DeSanti of Estes Park, Colorado; three grandchildren, Crystal and husband Scott McMillin, Jared and wife Meredith Mindrup, and Kyle Mindrup; one great-grandchild, Catherine McMillin; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
Bernard was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, his mother, Anna, wife, Betty, three brothers, David, Alfred, and Robert, two sisters, Dorothy, and Loretta DeSanti
