Obituary of Loretta L. Fowler

IN LOVING MEMORY LORETTA FOWLER Loretta (Lawn) Fowler, was born in Norton, Kansas, on December 15, 1960, the seventh child of John Joe and Dorthy (Foster) Lawn. Loretta passed away at her home in Norton, Kansas, on November 11, 2014, at the age of 53. Loretta's first 3 years of life were lived on the family farm in rural Norton County, Kansas. Loretta and her family then moved to Norcatur, Kansas, due to the construction of the Norton Dam. Loretta attended grades 1st – 8th at Norcatur Grade School where she played basketball in 7th and 8th grade. She attended Decatur Community High School in Oberlin, Kansas, graduating in 1979. After graduation, Loretta moved to Norton, Kansas. Loretta worked as a cashier, waitress, and cook throughout the years until her health declined. On May 12, 1990, Loretta was united in marriage to Ed Fowler. To this union Loretta brought her daughter, Samantha, and Ed brought his children, Melisa and Kyle. One of Loretta's greatest pleasures was spending quality time with her grandchildren and family. Loretta's hobbies included reading, word search, jigsaw puzzles, collecting oil lamps, watching Master Chef, The Great Food Truck Race, and game shows. Survivors include: her husband, Ed Fowler, Norton, Kansas; one daughter, Samantha (Matt Hutchens); step-daughter, Melisa (Lee Troutner); step-son, Kyle (Shawna) Fowler; two brothers, Jim (Lea) Lawn and Kevin (Lori) Lawn; four sisters, Priscilla Duncan, Patty (Fred) Beachel-Darnall, Donna Wiscombe, and Brenda (Gabriel) Palma; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Archer and Eloise, aka Wink, (Rod) Sites; one brother-in-law, Steve (Cindy) Fowler; five grandchildren, Katie, Devon, Kristen, Dayton, and Preston; and loving dog, Anna; twin nieces, April Jones and August (Bill) Matson, whom she became a second mother to after the loss of her sister, Marlina; her mother, Dorothy Lawn; mother-in-law, Rhoda Fowler; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, John Joe Lawn; father-in-law, Frank Fowler; one brother, Johnny Lawn; one sister, Marlina Jones; two brothers-in-law, Michael Duncan and Jerry Fowler; one sister-in-law, Sharon Stacy; one niece, Berkley Millan; one nephew, Michael Beachel; and one great-niece, Mary Jane Hernadez.
