Obituary of Doug Gallentine

IN LOVING MEMORY OF W. DOUGLAS GALLENTINE William Douglas Gallentine, son of Gary Allen and Naomi Ruth (Cozad) Gallentine, was born December 17, 1963 in Norton, Kansas, and passed away at his home in Norton County, on September 10, 2014, at the age of 50. Doug grew up in the Norcatur and Norton communities and graduated from the Norton Community High School with the class of 1982. He also received an Associate Degree in Farm and Ranch Management from Colby Community College. On October 27, 1984, Doug and Kimberly Kay Goscha were united in marriage in Norton. They made their home in Norton where they farmed and owned and operated their water well business. Doug had also been employed at Greving Farms, Norton County Co-op, and New Age Industries before his decision to farm for himself full time. Doug enjoyed farming, hunting, and playing cards. He greatly loved his family and especially spending time with his granddaughter, Addison. Survivors include: his wife, Kim Gallentine, of their home in Norton; two sons, Joshua and Jesse Gallentine; one granddaughter, Addison Gallentine; his mother, Ruth Cozad-Vise; his step-mother, Savella Gallentine; two brothers and their wives, Kirk and Deanna Gallentine and Brett and Vicky Gallentine; his mother-in-law, Donna Goscha; two sisters-in-law, Kelley, and husband, Tim Gill, and Kaye Goscha; other relatives and many friends. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Gary, one brother, Shawn Gallentine, and his father-in-law, Bill Goscha.
