Obituary of Mildred Wynona Baudry
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
MILDRED VAN PATTEN BAUDRY
Mildred W. Baudry, daughter of Miles Iver and Florence (Reed) Standish, was born May 31, 1912, in rural Almena, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on May 16, 2010, at the age of 97.
She grew up in the Almena community, attended rural grade school, and graduated from the Almena Rural High School. On August 9, 1930, Mildred and Loren Van Patten were united in marriage. They made their home on the farm near Almena where they farmed and raised their three children, David, Gloria, and Judith. They retired from farming in 1959, at which time they moved into Almena and ran Van Patten's Dry Goods. In 1973, they moved to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas to enjoy their retirement. Her husband, Loren, preceded her in death. Following Loren's death, she married Maurice Baudry in 1978, and they made their home in Kansas City, before moving to Norton. Maurice passed away in 2003.
Mildred was a member of the Almena Congregational Church and a 50-year-member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of various social clubs and she loved to play cards with her friends. She loved to read and was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include: her son, David Van Patten and his companion, Brucie; grandson, Tony Van Patten, and wife, Rose; great-grandsons, Benjamin Van Patten; great-great-grandchildren, Alana and Alexander; great-grandson, Mathew Van Patten, and wife, Hilary; great-great-grandson, Clay; great-grandson, Mark Van Patten, and wife, Rachel; great-great-granddaughters, Khrissanna, Tea, and Serenity; granddaughter, Teresa Larimer, and husband, James; great-grandson, Patrick, and wife, Danen Hammond; great-granddaughter, Brynn Hammond; granddaughter, Tina Coddington, and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Kayli and Kolten; her daughter, Gloria, and husband, Norman Nelson; granddaughter, Sally Nelson; grandson, Terry Nelson; great-grandsons, Clarke, and wife, Julie Nelson, and Stanton Nelson; grandson, Troy, and wife, Denise Nelson; great-granddaughter, Kayla Burr, and husband, Dustin; great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Charley; great-granddaughter, Kamille Whited, and husband, J.T.; great-great-granddaughter, Kori; great-grandson, Bo Nelson; granddaughter, Lisa Brooksher, and husband, Bruce; great-grandson, Carson; her daughter, Judith Jocelyn; granddaughter, Wendy Kipple, and husband, Lonnie; great-granddaughter, Christi; granddaughter, Laura Reinhard; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and two sisters, Gladys Rumsey and Elizabeth Hanchett.
