Obituary of Lena C Skrdlant

IN LOVING MEMORY OF LENA C. SKRDLANT Lena C. Skrdlant, daughter of John and Ruth E. (Shewey) Saathoff, was born November 2, 1924, in Norton, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton on February 14, 2014, at the age of 89. Lena attended rural grade school and graduated from high school. She also received a teaching certificate. On August 6, 1946, Lena and James Skrdlant were united in marriage at her parent's home in Norton County. They made their home on the farm southeast of Norton where Lena was a loving homemaker for her husband & daughters. In 2004, they moved to the Norton Manor and later to the Andbe Home in 2007. James passed away May 3, 2010. Lena was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran in Norton. She was a seamstress, cake decorator, and enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. Her greatest love in life was her family and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include: her daughters, Dawn, and husband, Bob Pauley, Smith Center, Kansas, and Julia Skrdlant, Liberal, Kansas; two sisters, Mary Keith, Norton, and Flora Sanders, Larned, Kansas; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Lena was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James. Memorials may have been established to the Andbe Home and the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
