Obituary of Glenda Sue Johnson
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
GLENDA S. JOHNSON
Glenda Sue Johnson, daughter of Martin & Lorene (Cobb) Kamstra, was born October 27, 1947, in Andrews, Texas, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on October 31, 2013, at the age of 66.
Glenda's father was a pastor so the family lived in several communities in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. Glenda attended those community schools and she also completed her education by including some college level classes. On March 20, 1981, Glenda and Larry L. Johnson were united in marriage by Glenda's father, Martin Kamstra, in Johnson City, Kansas. They made their home in Jennings. Glenda was a licensed Methodist minister and had worked as a dispatcher and deputy in the Stanton County, Kansas, sheriff's office.
Glenda was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church and the UMW, she served on the Jennings Library board, and she was a member of TOPS. Glenda loved her family and especially enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry Johnson, of their home in Jennings; four children, Terresa Bruning, Tammy Murphy, Michael Lawrence, and Brandon Johnson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and Duane Kamstra; one sister, Charla; other relatives and many friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
