Obituary of Julia Ruby Roeder
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
JULIA R. ROEDER
Julia Ruby Roeder, daughter of Julius J. and Alvina (Naiman) Neuschafer, was born March 4, 1924, in WaKeeney, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on February 8, 2010, at the age of 85.
Julia grew up on a farm southeast of WaKeeney, graduated from the rural district school #10 near WaKeeney, and also graduated from the Trego Community High School. She worked for over 3 years at the Boeing Aircraft plant in Wichita, Kansas, then worked at the Wickizer Real Estate and Insurance Company in WaKeeney. On November 11, 1950, Julia and Cecil Roeder were united in marriage. They made their home on a farm northwest of Densmore until 1976, when they moved east of Norton. Her husband, Cecil, passed away in 1992.
Survivors include: three daughters and their husbands, Anita and John Hildebrand, Lenora, Kansas; Vicki and Larry Henderson, Norton; Susie and Blaine Marble, Almena, Kansas; one sister, Betty Webb, Wichita; 10 grandchildren, Jenny and Tony Hildebrand, Lisa Henderson, Angela Folks, Chance and Bryce Marble, Danielle and Donni Roeder, Raylene Yeary, and Colleen Rockey; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary Roeder, two brothers, Julius, Jr. and Glenn Neuschafer, and one sister, Margaret Ivy.
A memorial has been established to the Second Chance Pet Society.
